Previous Cycle | IMRA 2024

The previous Instructional Material Review and Approval (IMRA) cycle reviewed full-subject, tier-one instructional materials intended for classroom-wide instruction to support all students in K–5 English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR), K–5 Spanish Language Arts and Reading (SLAR), and K–12 mathematics and partial-subject, tier-one instructional materials for K–3 English and Spanish phonics.

The following are documents with information regarding the finalized SBOE results, official bids, and pricing for all instructional materials reviewed in IMRA Cycle 2024: 

The following are the finalized comprehensive IMRA reports for all instructional materials reviewed in IMRA Cycle 2024: 

  • State Review Panelist (SRP) Feedback Report (PDF)This report lists all state review panelists' feedback and suggestions, identified content errors, and suitability flags for prohibited content along with the publishers' responses to each. 
  • Public Feedback Report (PDF): This report lists the comments, identified alleged factual errors and all suitability flags for prohibited content identified by the public along with the publishers' responses to each. 
  • Publisher-Identified Changes, Corrections, and New Content Report (PDF): This report contains new content created by the publisher during the review process and error corrections as well as editorial changes. The new content, changes, and corrections submitted by the publishers must be included in the final versions provided to schools as a condition of approval by the State Board of Education (SBOE). 
  • Comprehensive Changes Addendum Report (PDF): This report includes changes that publishers made in response to public testimony that were received by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 11/20/2024. This report was presented to the SBOE on November 22, 2024. 

In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC), §31.023(c) the agency shall provide the results of the annual review of instructional materials and any related recommendations to the State Board of Education for approval or rejection of the instructional material and the inclusion of the instructional material on a list maintained by the State Board of Education under TEC, §31.022. The following report contains the commissioner's recommendations for IMRA Cycle 2024
