Phonics-only instructional materials are considered partial-subject English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) materials that solely cover phonics TEKS.
Submitted instructional materials are available for public review and feedback Friday, May 1 through Friday, July 31, 2026.
Access Phonics Instructional Materials
Instructional materials are separated by English and Spanish phonics materials. Under each heading, instructional materials are organized alphabetically by publisher. Access to instructional materials varies depending on the publisher; all information needed to view materials is provided, including links, usernames, and passwords, if applicable.
As a reminder, the instructional materials linked here are for review purposes only and may not be reproduced, distributed, publicly performed, publicly displayed, modified, transmitted, or derivative works made thereof without the publisher’s prior written approval.
Public Comment on Phonics Instructional Materials
Texas residents were invited to submit written comments, report suspected errors, and/or raise suitability concerns regarding instructional materials under consideration for approval through the IMRA process, in accordance with 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §67.33. Copies of submitted comments were shared with the State Board of Education (SBOE) and the publisher.
The public comment period opened on May 01, 2026, and concluded on July 31, 2026. Additional comments may be provided by registering for public testimony for the September 2026 SBOE meeting. Additional details can be found at Public Testimony Registration.
