The below license applies only to pre-approval samples of Texas Education Agency (TEA) materials that are under State Board of Education (SBOE) review (“Program Materials”) and that are not subject to a Creative Commons (CC) license or a custom license with the third-party owner. This license is intended to provide notice to reviewers of granted rights and restrictions on use of the materials. All users should be aware that certain Program Materials are subject to custom or CC licenses as applicable and noted in the materials. The units that are under CC license are not limited by this license and are subject to the terms of the applicable CC license noted in that particular material. The units that are under a custom license are subject to the terms of the applicable custom license noted in that particular material. Bluebonnet Learning K–5 Spanish math materials are subject to the specific license noted in the link to those materials.
This license is in effect only while the materials are pending approval before the SBOE pursuant to Chapter 31 of the Texas Education Code (TEC). Upon approval, a new license, applicable to the individual material, will be issued granting use of the final, approved version of the TEA’s materials.
For avoidance of doubt, this limited license does not grant any intellectual property right for any purpose or use outside of instructional materials review and approval as required by Chapter 31 of TEC and related governmental and administrative purposes. Third-party materials may be subject to additional restrictions.
Texas Residents are granted a nonexclusive, limited, temporary, revocable right and license to read, evaluate, and comment on the Program Materials solely for non-commercial purposes in connection with the review process as required or allowed by Chapter 31 of TEC. This license is granted in consideration for the opportunity to review Program Materials and participate in the overall review process.
